Audrey McRae, Groomer

Hi, I’m Audrey! I’ve lived in Massachusetts most of my life and have always been around animals. My passion for animals started when I was 10 years old and started riding horses. Since then I have always found myself working with animals whether it be around a barn, through Girl Scouts, or inside a grooming salon! I started working in a grooming salon when I was in high school, but I moved on to the retail side of animal care. I worked as a Manager and Pet Food Advisor for several years and really loved the connection I had with people and their fur babies. My job was to help people choose the best food for their situation with a heavy focus on clean feeding. Doing this I learned a lot about allergies and skin conditions that could all be fixed through food, supplements, or a really good bath.

After a few years I started to miss having the hands on experience and made the choice to go back to grooming. I started here at Pampered Puppies as a Grooming Assistant and was trained by my fellow groomers to be able to do custom and breed standard haircuts as well. I'm currently working on my professional certification from International Pet Groomers (IPG).

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my dog Maki! She is an Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepard mix and full of energy. Her favorite way to play is to go to the local dog park, get a really big stick and bring it to me to be swung around on. (It's also a great workout for me!) After the park we snuggle up together and she watches me play my favorite video games.
