Kelly Herrera, Groomer

Hi! I’m Kelly, I grew up in Holliston, MA by way of Wellesley - I'm a 3rd generation Wellesleyian. In Holliston, I grew up on a cattle farm where we raised beef and poultry. This is where my love for animals of all kinds began.

I moved to Southern California in 2001 and started working in an incredibly busy and successful grooming salon as a Bather. I fell in love with this industry! I had hands on training from a group of groomers with well over 100 years of experience combined. These were groomers who own and showed dogs, groomers who ran breeder kennels, and "all breed" groomers. After a few years of assisting these talented groomers, I became a groomer myself.

I moved back to Massachusetts in 2007 with my husband and started a family while continuing my grooming career. Since then, I’ve worked as a groomer in boarding kennels, a groomer in animal hospitals, and a resident groomer in private salons.  In essence, I’ve been grooming my entire adult life. I wouldn’t change it for a second!

Three years ago I bought my first show dog, a Lancashire Heeler (a cattle dog) named "Gambit". Since the day he came to live with our family, he has brought my family into the dog world with me! My son and I have traveled the country with Gambit entering dog shows and sporting events and making some of the best memories ever!
